Nails

How long does Gel polish last?

We recommend to book every 2/3 weeks depending on nail growth. Natural nails can break easily so regular trips to the salon is needed to prevent this.

How long does an SNS full set last?

We recommend to book every 3/4 weeks depending on nail growth.

Does it hurt having your nails done?

We are qualified nail technicians and have been for many years. All of the staff are experienced in the industry. There should be no discomfort or pain during the procedure.

How long does an acrylic full set last?

We recommend to book every 3/4 weeks depending on nail growth.

What is the difference between acrylic powder and gel powder?

We offer two different powders in our salon. Acrylic powder which is more affordable with a hint of pink and Gel powder which is clear and transparent. The durability of gel is better.

What should I do if I have a fungal infection?

We recommend you go and see the GP straight away where they will treat it with fungal creams and lotions. Your local pharmacy can offer these products off the shelf. However, these products can be purchased from our salon.

I am pregnant can I have my nails and feet done?

We are able to perform the nails normally and the pedicure without the massage.

Will my natural nails continue to grow under fake nails?

Your nails will continue to grow as normal.

Do we use the electric nail drill?

We perform nail enhancements using the electric file as this makes our end result perfect and smooth. We prefer not to use the drill on gel polish to maximise the natural nail strength.

How long do nails take?

Average nail time is 1 hour but this all depends on the service/treatment you are having done.

Difference between gel polish and normal nail varnish?

Gel polish is a hard wearing varnish that dries instantly using our LED lamp, it also lasts around 2 – 4 weeks depending on the aftercare and general day to day duties. Gel can not be removed using normal nail varnish remover from the local shop it needs to be removed with acetone which only salons should have. Incorrect removal of gel can lead to damaged weak nails.

Advantages of having Gel Polish are:

  1. Dries instantly
  2. More shiny
  3. Longer lasting
  4. Non- chip

Normal nail varnish can be applied and takes longer to dry. We finish off our set by applying top coat then dried under an air drying fan.

Do we do wedding nails?

Yes, we do weddings nails but we do advise you to book in advance as we can not guarantee an appointment at your desired time and date.

Do we use MMA?

In our salon we do not use MMA.

Can I test if I'm allergic to your acrylic?

Absolutely. We can do a test if you have had a previous reaction to acrylics. We will simply apply 1 or 2 fingers with our products to see what the results are after a few days. If everything is well you can book an appointment.

What is SNS?

Signature Nail System. This is the latest dipping nail system. SNS is the worlds first and most trusted dipping powder nail enhancement system.

It almost has no chemicals and contains vitamins to make your nails grow healthier and stronger. It is also thinner and lightweight compared to other nail systems.

You literally pick the colour you wish and dip!

Do I need extra time if I wish to have nail art design?

If you have a particular design which is more complicated than normal it is recommended to include extra time. It is best to call the salon and book this in with the receptionist so she can allocate how long is needed.

What is the aftercare for nails?

Please see below what we advise after any nail treatment at our salon:

  • To be gentle until the enhancement is fully hardened for the first 24-48 hours after they are applied.
  • Always remove acrylic nails properly.
  • Use suitable moisturisers to prevent lifting.
  • Maintain enhancement every 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Treat nails as jewels and not tools.

What Happens If I Get A Reaction To The Product Used For My Nail Enhancement?

Whilst we offer several hypoallergenic nail lines in the salon, in today’s world of chemicals and enhancement it is not unusual to hear of people with sensitivity and allergies. Nail products are no different and if you experience any redness, itchy skin or swelling around the area where we have applied nail products please contact us immediately. While it is rare for this to occur, if it does, you will need the product removed immediately. Also, remember hypoallergenic does not mean it WILL NOT cause allergy it just means it is LESS LIKELY to.

Beauty

How long should the hairs be for waxing?

The ideal length for waxing is 1cm but half of this is also is ok. We recommend every 3 to 6 weeks for waxing depending on the area.

What should I do before a spray tan?

We would recommend all waxing and exfoliation to be done prior to the appointment. We advise to dress in loose clothing so it is easily slipped on after the tan.

What is Microblading?

Phibrows is a technique of semi-permanent drawing of the eyebrows with hyper-realistic result.

Microblading uses very small needles that are then pigmented under the skin, giving a hair stroke effect. PhiBrow strokes are always drawn in the direction of the natural hair strokes to achieve the hyper-realistic look. Microblading is good for people who have over plucked over the years, want to add more volume for a fuller look, people who have experienced hair loss and just for people that want to achieve a more defined look. PhiBrows always try to create the appearance of much more natural brows than other looks out there.

We do not wax or take off ANY existing eyebrows. We will tidy the area but do not remove the whole eyebrow.

Does Microblading hurt?

We take into consideration that everyone has a different pain threshold. We will try to make the procedure as pain free as possible. Some clients do find the procedure uncomfortable and others don’t find any discomfort. Pain relief is used during the procedure and is topped up regularly to keep you comfortable.

Do I need a patch test for Lashes? Brows?

We require a patch test if you haven’t had one with us before and to test if you have any allergic reactions. If a test is not carried out at least 24 hours prior appointment, unfortunately you will forfeit the deposit and the treatment will not be carried out.

Patch testing includes the following treatments lash extensions, brow lamination, henna brows, brow & lash tint and LVL lashes.

I've had my eyebrows microbladed somewhere else, can you do the top up?

We would recommend you book a consultation with our Phibrow artist to discuss the options.

What is the recommended time for a eyebrow top-up?

We recommend every 12 to 18 months.

Will you shave all my eyebrows off before i get them microbalded?

Our techniques is to create a natural full look therefore the more hairs you have the more natural it’ll look, so we do not remove any hair.

Can I have Dermaplaning before my holiday ?

The recommended time to have the dermaplaning treatment is 2 weeks before to avoid any sun damage.

Can I have massages whilst pregnant?

Unfortunately we do not specialise in pregnancy massages.

What is Henna brows?

Henna brows is a form of brow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to create a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area. This treatment is amazing for everyone who wants darker brows with better definition.

This treatment last from 2-4 weeks depending on skin tone and hair colour. A patch is required at least 24 hours before the treatment.

What is Lamination brows?

Lamination brows involves “perming” of your hairs to make a fuller and more even look. Brow hairs are brushed upwards to help create this look much more fluffy and brush. This treatment also includes a wax and tint to shape and darker brows. It is finally, applied with nourishing oils and serums. It’s the world hottest brow trend of 2020.

This treatment last from 4-8 weeks depending on skin type. A patch test is required at least 24 hours before the treatment.

Lashes

What is the difference between Individual, Volume and Russian lashes?

Individual Lashes: are single lashes applied to one single lash strand to create a very natural lash enhancement.

Volume (3d) Lashes: are multiple Lashes that are fanned to one single lash giving a fuller look and more dimensional look.

Russian Lashes: are similar to volume lashes, created the same way but with more of a dramatic look.

Can you infill lashes done by another salon?

Unfortunately we will be unable to infill someone else’s work due to material used and technique.

What are LVL lashes?

LVL is a natural enhancement to lift and volumize your natural lashes naturally – our natural lashes will be curled for 6/8 weeks this treatment includes tinting  therefore a patch test is required 24 hrs before your appointment.

Can I have lashes or LVLs done while pregnant?

Due to changes in hormones in pregnancy we recommend not having LVL.

Do I need a patch test for Lashes? Brows?

We require a patch test if you haven’t had one with us before and to test if you have any allergic reactions. If a test is not carried out at least 24 hours prior appointment, unfortunately you will forfeit the deposit and the treatment will not be carried out.

Patch testing includes the following treatments lashes extensions, brow lamination, henna brows and LVL lashes.

Covid-19 Info

What changes have you made for clients in the salon?

We will continue to follow the government guidelines and stay up to date with the latest news.
We would like to reassure everyone that our Number 1 priority is to keep our staff and clients safe.

Firstly, we have reduced the capacity in the salon by 50%. We once was a busy salon and tables were all full consecutively. However, to ensure the safety measures are met and social distancing we have spaced our tables so you will not be sitting next to anyone.

Secondly, we have displayed perspex screens on the tables and at the front desk to protect both the client and staff member. It is compulsory that all staff are in FULL PPE and clients are to wear face masks unless they are medically exempt.

Do you have a way in and out system?

Yes, we do have a 1 way system for one of our salons as it does have 2 entrances. However, our smaller salon does not but it is managed by our team of receptionists to control the surroundings and monitor the amount of clients in the salon.

What have you changed about health and safety since Covid?

We have gone that extra mile just for our clients! Pulling out all the stops to make sure our clients feel safe and protected.

We begin by opening the salon using our fogging machine that attacks and destroys germs, bacteria, viruses and spores. We will be using this machine on a regular basis morning, mid day and closing.

So if you see a thick fog, don’t worry its not a fire its just us sanitising.

All tables, chairs and beds are sanitised after every use. Including all tools and machine.

All our staff have completed the Covid Awareness Health Course which includes information such as infection prevention, PPE, hand and respiratory hygiene, management and assessment and much more.

We will continue to deliver the best possible service during these unprecedented times.

Nail kits? Pedicure kits?

Whether it’s nails or pedicure we can ensure you that we are working towards being on top and staying clean and safe.

Each client will be given their own personal kit to take home and returned on every visit.

Nail kits includes, buffer and nail file

Pedicure kits includes, buffer, nail file, toes separators, pumice stone and nail brush.

This will be given FREE on your first visit and recorded on our system against your account.

I forgot my kit?

Not to worry. We have more kits available and ready for you at the salon. You would have to purchase these kits again, nail kit £3 and Pedicure kit £5.

Top tip is to leave the kits in the car in the boot or glove compartment.

Do you have a time for the more vulnerable?

We have not only decreased the capacity in the salon but we have also extended our opening times so that the more vulnerable can come in earlier if there is availability.

I was given a voucher but its expired due to Covid?

All vouchers have been extended for 1 year if purchased in 2020 and will be honoured.

I am still shielding, how can I purchase one of your press on nail kits, facial kits or pedicure kits?

We will continue to make these for our clients even if we reopen. To purchase please email [email protected] .

Can I bring my child in the salon?

Unfortunately, due to the size of the salon and the capacity limit there is no longer a waiting area. We are unable to allow extra people in the salon and to follow the social distancing guidelines you will not be allowed to bring anyone extra in the salon.

Why don't you offer threading no more?

We have only taken 1 service off our menu as we think its impossible to stay safe performing this treatment as we use our mouth to hold the string. Until we feel like it is safe to do so we will bring it back into the salon.
